As a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA), I have the opportunity to read some fantastic articles and e-books. Searching the AMA website, I came across one of those e-books, and it happened to be a valuable gem. Seeing as how this is a free e-book, I thought I would share it with my audience.

The Smart Marketer’s Guide to Social Media Management is a must-read for those who may be hesitant or don’t quite understand the process of social media management. This guide gives you ten useful tips and best practices that will help you make lasting connections on social media.

You can access this e-book at the link below.

Once you have downloaded the e-book, let me know if you found it helpful and if you implemented some of the tips into your daily social media strategy.

The Value of Twitter Lists

One of the most underutilized assets of social media is the list feature. Throughout various social media platforms, there are features called lists or tags that we can use as professionals to keep us organized on social media.

One of the unique ways I saw Twitter Lists in action was at the 2019 Sports PR Summit. The Sports PR Summit organized a list of all its attendees. Once added to the list, I could see tweets from those attending the Summit, and go on to add the list to my lists on Twitter. I thought this was a unique way of connecting individuals and continuing the networking process long after the event had ended.

So, here I am months later, still using that list to keep me updated on industry news and stay in touch with those I met at the Sports PR Summit.

Below is a link to a great article I found on Twitter Lists and how to use them to organize your life on social media. Once you create your lists, let me know how they are working for you. Do you find social media lists to be efficient and effective, or is it just a waste of your time?

A Reliable Company Database

Being an alumna of Full Sail University, I know a thing or two about resources and how to properly use them. Full Sail equips its students with many of the top research tools and databases to use for scholarly research and for researching companies, their founders and their staff. While these tools are invaluable throughout your time at Full Sail, once you become a graduate many of those resources are no longer available.

One of the research tools that I found most helpful during my time at Full Sail was LexisNexis. Lexis Nexis is a great tool that can be used for academic research as well as sourcing company info. But like many other tools, Lexis Nexis is not available to former students. However, I stumbled upon a great tool that can substitute for LexisNexis, so I thought I would pass it along to the SMP community.
